Gary Payton Headed to Hall of Fame

Former Seattle Sonics standout point guard Gary "The Glove" Payton is expected to be announced as a member of the next class in the pro basketball Hall of Fame.
A reporter with nba.com posted via Twitter: "Gary Payton very excited yesterday after getting word he had been elected to the Hall of Fame. Official announcement coming Monday."

Payton a nine-time member of the NBA's All-Defensive team as well as the only point guard in the Association's history to be named the Defensive Player of the Year.

'The Glove' spent 13 seasons in Seattle after being drafted second overall in the 1990 draft out of Oregon State. He is the Supes all-time leader in points, steals and assists.
