CINCINNATI (AP) — A fan briefly ran onto the field to join the celebration of Jake Arrieta's no-hitter before being removed by security.

Chicago Cubs players at the time were rushing the mound to congratulate Arrieta. He had just thrown the first no-hitter of the season Thursday night in a 16-0 rout of the Reds in Cincinnati.

The NL Cy Young winner was hugging catcher David Ross and other teammates were jumping up and down around them when a fan on the perimeter of the scrum tried to reach Arrieta. Security staffers pushed him away and took him off the field.

This was Arrieta's second no-hitter in 11 regular-season starts. The other came Aug. 30 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
