Extreme Temperatures Expected In Yakima Valley Force Pippins To Move Start Of Sunday’s Game

With triple-digit temperatures in the forecast this coming weekend, the Yakima Valley Pippins have delayed the start time of their game on Sunday (June 28) from 5:05 p.m. to 7:05 p.m.

The change was made to ensure safer conditions for players, coaches, umpires and spectators at the ballpark, according to a Monday announcement from the team.

“It will still be hot at 7:05, but temperatures won’t be nearly as extreme at that hour," team president Zachary Fraser said in a news release. "We feel that starting later is the best decision to ensure the comfort and safety of all involved in Sunday’s game.”
