MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Perrion Callandret scored 25 points and Victor Sanders added 20 as the Idaho Vandals edged Washington State 78-74 on Thursday night.

The Vandals (6-5) defeated WSU in consecutive years for the first time since winning three in a row from 1988-90. Washington State (5-2) had won 11 in a row against Idaho before losing last year at home.

Josh Hawkinson led the Cougars with 16 points and 12 rebounds in WSU's first road game of the season. Ike Iroegbu and Conor Clifford both scored 12, Renard Suggs had 11, and Charles Callison recorded 10 points and seven assists.

The Vandals outrebounded their larger opponents 39-22, including 14-1 on the offensive glass. Idaho had a 16-0 advantage in second-chance points and hit 56.3 percent from 3-point range (9 for 16), compared to 36.8 percent (7 for 19) for WSU.
