ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — President Barack Obama will host the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos on Monday at the White House.

The Broncos won their third Lombardi Trophy in February when they defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 behind Von Miller's two sack-strips that led to both of Denver's touchdowns.

All three titles have come under John Elway's leadership, two of them during his Hall of Fame playing career. He built the latest title team as its general manager.

Elway spent the offseason retooling his offense after Peyton Manning retired and he's trying to reach a long-term contract extension with his star defender, Miller.

The Broncos begin their title defense Sept. 8 when they host Cam Newton and the Panthers to kick off the 2016 season.
