Nothing says summer quite like the green grass of a baseball field, which makes this all the more stunning.

The University of Northwestern Ohio has unveiled its new baseball field, complete with a red infield. Like bunting to break up a no-hitter, it seems somewhat controversial, considering green grass goes hand-in-hand with baseball like steroid allegations.

Time will tell if this sort of thing catches on -- nobody's tearing out the red football field at Eastern Washington University. But even though baseball is a sport steeped in tradition, it's not immune to change. The proliferation of playoff teams, instant replay and interleague play has proven that.

Still, we doubt alternate colored infield will spread. It'd be like changing the lyrics to "Buy me some peanuts and Doritos, I don't care if I never get back" -- it just seems off.
