It's been a few years since indoor arena football left Kennewick's Toyota Center, but it looks like the phoenix is rising again as a new arena football team is coming: Say hello to the Tri-Cities Fire! The Fire will be part of the American West Football Conference that was created in 2018.

The Toyota Center released a news statement to Townsquare Media discussing the arrival of the Fire to Kennewick.

According to the release, Kinshasa Martin, owner of the Tri-Cities Fire, announced the team will kick off their season in March.

“We are thrilled to bring Arena Football back to the Tri Cities area,” said Corey Pearson, Executive Director of the Toyota Center.

A news conference is scheduled for Thursday (Jan. 31) morning in the Toyota Center, where Martin and Pearson will be available to answer questions. But it's exciting to see arena football coming back to the Tri-Cities.

I think a lot of families enjoyed the Tri-Cities Fever when they were here, and it looks like the Tri-Cities Fire will continue that tradition. You can check out more on the Tri-Cities Fire here.
