Nominees and eventual winners were chosen by the Sports Department of the Yakima Herald-Republic. Some 21 different schools, from Cle Elum to Prosser to Goldendale were represented.

2015-16 Team of the Year honors went to the Selah baseball squad who, just weeks ago, captured the school's first-ever state title. The Male Athlete of the Year went to Roy Zavala of Mabton and the female award was presented, for the second-straight year, to LaSalle's Lauren Newman.
